Boucher’s name will now appear on both the Republican and Independent party lines of the general election ballot in November

REDDING/WESTON, CT, August 21 — State Senator Toni Boucher (R-26), who was nominated for re-election at the District Republican Convention in May, received the additional endorsement of the state’s Independent Party at their caucus last night. The caucus was held at the Maron Hotel in Danbury.

Senator Boucher’s name will now appear on both the Republican and Independent party lines of the general election ballot in November.

“I’m very pleased to have won the endorsement of the state Independent party, commented Senator Boucher. “It’s an acknowledgement of my philosophy that good government transcends party lines and that in order to correct the Connecticut’s current downward course, we need to work together in a bi-partisan way.”

In order to qualify for the Independent party endorsement, Boucher had to petition for 576 signatures in a very short window of time.

“I thank all of the wonderful people who supported our petition drive and look forward to building on this momentum to win re-election in November and hopefully see a Republican majority in the Senate and a Republican governor running the state.” she said.

Senator Boucher is Senate Chief Deputy Majority Leader, Co-Chair of the Education and Transportation Committees and Vice Chair of the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee. She represents the 26th Senate district which comprises Bethel, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport and Wilton.
